Triple Bill Lineup front and center again for Weir Rockin' 13
Sackville, N.S. March 28, 2013. Following an incredibly successful 2012 concert, the Weir Rockin' outdoor concert event is back in Upper Sackville for their 7th annual show.
Today, at an announcement event for sponsors and media, Weir Rockin officials announced that this year's show will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 and will feature rock legends Lou Gramm - The Voice of Foreigner, Glass Tiger, and Kenny Shields andStreetheart.
"Last year's show was another sell out, and attendees weren't long asking who will be next," comments Andy Conrad, Executive Director of Weir Rockin. It's always a challenge trying to identify which acts would be able to continue our success, yet each year we pull together a lineup that delivers at Weir field. We are pleased with our choices for this year and expect yet another sell-out crowd."
With a Volunteer Steering Committee of just 10 people, more than 100 volunteers are brought together to host the nearly 3000 people at Weir Baseball Field in Upper Sackville.
"Each year's success provides us with the foundation to continue to find the right acts and make the right modifications to deliver a fantastic outdoor music event" comments Conrad, "we already have some great returning sponsors and supporters on board who are key in enabling us to offer services such as the free-shuttle service from Lower Sackville."
Last year's show which featured Kim Mitchell, Platinum Blonde, and Prism was a sold-out success and the organizing committee anticipates the same reaction to this summer's show. As for ticket sales, Conrad says "Each year we sell out earlier than the year previous, we expect this year's tickets will move even faster. People who have gone previously or wanted to go and missed their chance are coming to the realization they can't leave their purchasing to the last minute."
Tickets go on sale in June through Ticket Atlantic, so plan now!
The goal of Weir Rockin is to be a self-sustaining event, providing a unique outdoor music event in HRM. Any profit generated from the show is put back into planning and organizing of future shows. Every successful year builds on the previous and moves Weir Rockin' organizers one step closer to their hope to one day be able to bring a high-profile act to the area.
